What’s in a name? Optimo cigars are a new kind of cigar with more flavours, a higher quality, more flavoursome tobacco and better price
Optimo, the company that produces the premium cigar line from Ireland, is introducing a cigar with the same name as the cigar brand, which is said to have a higher-quality, fuller-bodied tobacco.
“We’ve made an announcement today which we hope will help to bring a little bit of clarity to the market and give some certainty to consumers as to the flavour profile of the product,” said James McAleese, managing director of Optimo.
Optimo’s name has a strong history in Ireland, with the first of the cigar brands, Estrella, being launched in the early 1980s.
It’s a well-known brand in the US, and McAlese said it’s been the target of a lot of marketing and branding in Ireland.
The company has not released any marketing material for its new line, and has not yet announced a retail launch date.
Optimal Cigar has a long history in the cigar world, having launched its flagship brand, the Estrella line, in 1993.
“The Estrella brand is known for its great value, and it was always a very important part of our marketing strategy,” said McAlees.
“Our aim with Optimo was to be the best in the industry, and to be a global brand.”
Optimo is one of the only tobacco companies in the world to produce cigars of the highest quality, with a reputation for a high-quality product.
“Optimo has the highest standards in the premium market, and we are excited to be joining forces with the Optimo brand to bring Optimo into the premium segment,” said John O’Reilly, president of Optimum Cigar.
“At the end of the day, this is a great opportunity for Optimo to offer the premium brands consumers want, while also offering an affordable way to buy cigars,” he added.
“This is a huge opportunity for us to offer a great range of premium cigars, and the Optimal cigar line is just one of many we will be introducing in the coming months.”
In the United States, Optimum sells the cigar line Estrella in the states of California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington.
Optimum also has a joint venture with Robusto, a cigar company in Costa Rica.
