By Andrew GrieveIt’s no secret that many of us have been waiting for the arrival of the new BMW 5 Series.
There was even a brief wait for the car’s first appearance in Australia when it was unveiled last year.
Now that the car has arrived in Ireland, we are all waiting for its first official ride in the real world.
The latest issue of Car Magazine has revealed that the BMW 5 series will debut in the UK in the middle of September, so we can expect to see the new car at the show at least once.
There’s a lot of talk about how this new car is supposed to be more compact and faster than the current 5 Series, but the fact is it’s only been designed to fit in the smallest of space.
As with most of the BMW models, the front bumper is made from carbon fiber and the front grille is carbon fiber too, but there are no rear spoilers or fog lights.
If the new 5 Series is indeed the most compact and powerful 5 Series ever, it should be able to pull away from its competitors.
The only way to know for sure is to see it in the car show itself.
But what does the new vehicle look like?
For the time being, it looks like a standard 5 Series with a new body style and interior.
It looks similar to the old model, but it’s made from a much lighter alloy than the 5 Series you might have seen on the roads in the US.
It’s not quite the same as the current BMW 530 or the BMW X5, which were both introduced in the late 1990s.
There are now three models in the 5 series: the BMW 730, BMW 740, and the BMW 530.
It is also available in a range of colour options, with grey, black, white, and gold options available.
There’s also a black variant of the 530.
The new BMW 530 will have a range-topping 1.6-litre turbocharged engine, while the new 530x will have the same engine but with a turbocharger mounted under the bonnet instead of under the passenger side wheel.
Like the 530, the BMW 540 will be offered with a range topping 1.8 litre turbochargers, but this time they will be mounted underneath the bonnets.
The 540x also offers a new exterior colour option, while black versions will be available.
We can also expect the new model to have the new 3-zone automatic climate control system, although we’ll have to wait and see if that’s actually possible.
Although it will only have one seating position, the new models will be fitted with a full-length, air suspension, so there should be plenty of space to work around.
The interior will be a standard six-passenger cabin, and while the standard 5 series is fitted with heated seats, the 520x will feature a more traditional four-pass-seat layout.
In the US, the 5series will be priced at $27,990 for the base model, and $28,495 for the 520 and 530.
On the other hand, the 530x and 540x will be £29,950 and £31,495, respectively.
The 520x comes with a seven-speed manual gearbox, while 540x has an eight-speed automatic.
The new BMW models are available in the United Kingdom from August, while in the European Union from October.
For those who don’t want to wait, the base 5 Series will go on sale on November 21.
